Therapeutic Massage

Massage is a hands-on therapy that uses a wide range of techniques to relieve tension in the muscles that have been built up due to injury or stress.

Therapeutic massage uses a combination of deep tissue and Swedish massage techniques to encourage relaxation while reducing muscle tension and  stress that build up during our everyday lives.

The benefits of massage include reduction of stress through relaxation, improving circulation, eases muscle pain, improving joint mobility, better sleep, boosting energy and mental alertness. 

 

Reflexology

Reflexology is a gentle and effective therapy with the aim to promote deep relaxation. Light pressure is applied to reflex points  on the feet. Each reflex points correspond to the organs, systems, functions and structure of our body. There are 7000 nerve endings in the feet that runs through the reflex points. Gentle thumb and finger pressure placed on these points assist the body to restore natural flow and to encourage the body’s own healing process. The benefits include relieving stress, boosting energy levels, improve nerve function, promoting balance in the body.

Scar Tissue Therapy

Scar tissue therapy uses a range of gentle techniques to improve the appearance, health and function of the scar and the surrounding tissues. These techniques can help stimulate the circulatory, lymphatic and nervous system to encourage healing and easing of hypersensitivity and numbness. You may see or feel a difference in the appearance of the scar. Pain, numbness or sensitivity may improve to bring comfort and ease of movement in the area. 

Type of scars that can be treated include:

  • Abdominal surgery
  • Caesarean section
  • Cancer surgery including mastectomy
  • DIEP/TRAM flap surgery
  • Joint replacement
  • Appendectomy
  • Burns
  • Road traffic accident scarring

 

 

What to expect from a session

Your initial session with me will consist of a short consultation so that we can discuss what you would like to achieve from the treatments. 

At the beginning of each follow up sessions, we will recap on your progress and any changes that may have occurred since your last treatment with me. 

All treatments are  charged at £70 for 60 mins (inc. consultation).

Aftercare Advice

To maximise the benefits of your treatment, the following is recommended:

  • Allow yourself to rest for the remainder of the day. Use the day as a reason to put your feet up and relax.
  • Drink plenty of water to rehydrate and to encourage the body to eliminate toxins.
  • Avoid alcohol, caffeine and heavy meals.
  • You may feel tired or achy, try to avoid any strenuous exercise.

Regular treatment is encouraged to help you to relax and rebalance your body to enable you to achieve a state of optimum function with your daily life.
